After traveling 20 hellish hours by plane and car to a gig in Savannah, GA to play a headline slot at a really cool festival to maybe 25 people when there should have been a huge crowd in a beautiful ballroom because everybody thought we weren't going to show because we were late because they could not land the plane because our gear was rerouted, because we could not get another flight to Savannah because I got separated and detained at the Philly airport for 5 hours because I went to the other area of the airport to find my bag and waited 3 hours in line just to ask a question politely I might add and was totally blown off by the airline worker and ignored with the worst attitude possible may she rot in Purgatory for those very same 20 hours I lost and then they would not let me back over to the other side of the airport, and basically everything that could have gone wrong did indeed go wrong and in the middle of the fourth song one of the organizers is saying we need to wrap up, one could forgive me for being a little edgy when a very kind person came up to me after the gig and gave me a compliment on the songwriting. Deep breath. He is a musician himself and he said that the music was subtly complex and the subject matter is unusual and I think he said he liked it but I only remember the things that I could twist into some sort of negative feedback. I truly appreciated him saying nice things but decided later to have fun with that moment by copping an attitude and channeling the angst I was feeling at the moment into writing as accessible and factual piece as I could. With a nod to the story's setting, here's the southern rock flavored pop song.

Anxiety's been kicking me when I'm down. I bought me a ticket on a plane bound for Savannah, GA. 20 hours of delays and problems, we lost our minds. All these troubles just to play. My greatest fear is right here in the air. Self medicating on the airplane in the turbulent sky. I wanna go home but my bags are gone so I follow them down. All these troubles just to play.

Drove through the night not a wink of sleep it's 5 a.m. We pulled into the Thunderbird and our room is gone. To the back seat of the rental car to dream away. So beyond caring if we get to play. I got a nap and a bite to eat my gear's arrived. It's at the airport and we gotta go if we're gonna make the show. Late to the gig, hats in hand, and four songs in, all these troubles and we couldn't play.

Chorus – Our moneymaker didn't make it rain. Our moneymaker didn't ease the pain. Our moneymaker could have made our day. All these troubles just to play.

Blessings came from surprising places. The things I discovered about my little band did my heart much good. The best times now were the worst times then. It doesn't even matter that we didn't play,

Chorus – Our moneymaker didn't make it rain but we laughed about it all. It was insane and we're grateful for the rough days. All this fun even though we didn't play our moneymaker.
